# H.R. 2931 (119th): Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act

Save SBA from Sanctuary Cities Act This bill requires the relocation of a regional, district, or local office of the Small Business Administration (SBA) if the SBA makes a public determination that the office is located in a sanctuary jurisdiction. The SBA must relocate that office, within 60 days of such determination, to a location that is not a sanctuary jurisdiction. Under the bill, a sanctuary jurisdiction is a state or political subdivision thereof that prohibits or restricts any government entity or official from (1) exchanging with another government entity information regarding the citizenship or immigration status of an individual; or (2) complying with specified requests by the Department of Homeland Security. Additionally, the SBA may not establish an office in a sanctuary jurisdiction.

Polarity rationale: Reviewed enrichment (llm_import) polarity: The bill is a federal immigration-enforcement and office-location measure that uses SBA facility decisions to pressure state and local cooperation with DHS. It pursues a real prudential goal of immigration enforcement and cooperation, but it raises legitimate concerns about federal leverage over state and local governments and about whether small-business services are being used as an enforcement lever. This is an ordinary contested policy dispute rather than a direct moral evil or a clear defense of justice.
Theological note: The measure touches on the civil authority's duty to enforce lawful immigration and public order, and on the proper stewardship of federal resources and offices. Scripture commands both justice toward the stranger and obedience to lawful government. The bill's relevance lies in how federal leverage over state and local immigration cooperation is weighed under general equity, not in a direct moral harm or protection.
